Privacy Policy — Kids Flashcards: 13 Languages (formerly Kiddie Flashcards)
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Which app and developer this policy covers
This privacy policy applies to the following Android application and its
developer, as listed on Google Play:
- App name: listed on Google Play as "Kids
Flashcards: 13 Languages", previously "Kids Flashcards: 9
Languages" and originally "Kiddie Flashcards".
This policy covers the app under any of these names; the listing and
package are unchanged.
- Package name / application ID: com.yzy.kidsflashcards
- Google Play listing:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yzy.kidsflashcards
- Developer name (Google Play developer account): yzyy, an
individual developer based in Singapore
- Contact email:
yzyapps99@gmail.com
Kids Flashcards: 13 Languages ("the app"), formerly named Kiddie
Flashcards, teaches young children animals,
plants, the alphabet, numbers, colours, shapes and the world around them, in up to 13
spoken languages, using picture flashcards, sounds, quizzes and short
illustrated stories. This page explains what data the app handles and who it is
shared with.
The app is provided by yzyy, an individual developer based in Singapore ("we",
"us").
Summary
- The app is made for children. Its declared target age
groups on Google Play are 5 and under and 6–8, so it is
subject to Google Play's Families policy and we design it accordingly.
- No account is needed. The app never asks a child or a parent for a name,
email address, phone number, photo or any other personal detail. The only
way we ever learn who you are is if a parent chooses to email us feedback
(see below).
- The app requests no runtime or sensitive Android
permissions — nothing that Android asks you to approve. It uses only
normal permissions: network access (internet and network state) — used
by Google Play billing, by the anonymous analytics and crash reporting
described below, and by older copies of the app that still download
pictures from Firebase Storage; the current version packages every
picture, sound and story inside the app — and Google Play's billing
permission, used for the one-time Pro unlock below. Google's libraries
add a few more normal permissions: Firebase Analytics adds a wake lock
(so a batch of usage counts can finish sending), the Google Play install
referrer (which tells us the app came from Google Play) and the Privacy
Sandbox attribution permission; the advertising ID permissions are
removed and the advertising ID is not used. An Android support library
also adds one private permission that only the app itself can hold.
- The app shows no ads. Google AdMob was removed
completely in version 2.2.0. There is no advertising SDK left in the app,
and no advertising identifier is collected.
- There is one optional purchase. A single, one-time
"Pro" unlock opens the rest of the card catalogue. There is no
subscription and no other charge. It is bought through Google Play's own
billing sheet, behind a parental gate, and the app never sees or stores
any payment details.
- The app sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports through Google
Firebase so that it can be fixed and improved.
- We do not sell data, and we do not operate any servers of our own.
Children's privacy and the Families policy
Because the app is directed to children under 13, we take these positions and
have configured the app to enforce them in code, not merely to promise them:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app
has no fields in which a child could enter personal information, no
profile and no chat. Its one purchase sits behind a parental gate, so a
child cannot reach the payment sheet unaided.
- There is no advertising of any kind. The app contains
no ad SDK, shows no ads, and builds no advertising profile from a child's
use of it. Versions up to 2.1.3 did show child-directed, non-personalised
ads through Google AdMob; that was removed entirely in version 2.2.0.
- The analytics SDK is prevented from collecting the advertising
identifier and from sending ad-personalisation signals
(
google_analytics_adid_collection_enabled=false and
google_analytics_default_allow_ad_personalization_signals=false).
- We aim to comply with applicable children's privacy laws, including the US
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and, for children in the
EU/EEA and UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
If you are a parent or guardian and believe the app has collected information
about your child that you would like removed, email
yzyapps99@gmail.com and we will act on
it — see Your choices and how to reach us below.
What data the app handles
The app itself asks for nothing about you. The data below is collected
automatically by the Google services listed in the next section, and matches the
Data safety declaration on the app's Google Play listing:
- Crash logs — if the app crashes, a report containing the
device model, Android version and a diagnostic stack trace is sent so the
defect can be found and fixed.
- Diagnostics — basic performance and error information of
the same kind.
- App interactions — anonymous, aggregated counts of which
screens, card categories and features are used, so that the app can be
improved. These are tied to a random installation identifier, not to a
person.
- Device or other identifiers — a random,
app-specific installation identifier (the Firebase installation ID and
the analytics app instance ID) that lets the services below tell one
installation from another, so a crash report and the usage counts around
it belong together. It is not the device's advertising
identifier — the app does not collect that one — and it is
discarded when the app is uninstalled.
- Purchase history — if a parent buys the one-time
Pro unlock, the app records that the purchase completed, as one more
anonymous usage event of the kind above. It is the bare fact that a
purchase happened: no card details, no name, no receipt and no amount
ever reach us, because Google Play handles the payment itself.
- IP address — like any internet request, the analytics,
crash-reporting and billing calls described above carry the device's IP
address to the Google service being contacted (as do the picture
downloads that older copies of the app still make). An IP address can indicate approximate location
such as a country or city; the app never requests, reads or transmits the
device's GPS location, and holds no location permission at all.
None of this includes a child's name, voice, photographs or any content
created in the app, because the app collects none of those things.
Third-party services used by the app
The app includes the following Google services, which collect data
independently of us and under their own terms. Google's handling of that data is
described in Google's privacy policy at
policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Play Billing — handles the one-time Pro
unlock. The payment happens inside Google Play under Google's own terms;
the app is told only whether the purchase succeeded, and never receives
or stores payment details.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — records the anonymous
usage events described above, with advertising-identifier collection and
ad-personalisation signals switched off.
- Firebase Crashlytics — records crash and error reports.
- Firebase Storage — no longer used by the current
version. Every picture, sound and story is packaged inside the
app as of version 2.2.1, so the app makes no file-download requests and
the Storage SDK is not present in it. Older copies still installed on a
device continue to download pictures and audio from Storage until they
update; those are ordinary file downloads that carry the device's IP
address to Google, and no information about the child is uploaded either
way.
- Google Play In-App Review — no longer used by
the current version. As of version 3.0.0 the app never shows
Google Play's in-app review prompt and never calls that service. Rating
the app is now an option in the parent area, behind a parental gate,
that simply opens the app's Google Play page; any review you choose to
write there is handled by Google Play, not by the app.
We can see the reports these services produce in Google's own dashboards, in
aggregate form. We do not receive, store or have any way to look up an
individual child's data, and we do not combine this information with anything
else.
What the app does not do
- It does not sell or rent data to anyone.
- It does not show ads of any kind, personalised or otherwise.
- It does not ask for or hold location, microphone, camera, contacts,
storage or photo permissions.
- It has no login, no user profile, no chat and no user-generated content.
The "share" button only passes a short message and a link to the app to
Android's own share sheet, where you choose what to do with it; nothing
about your use of the app is included and nothing is sent to us.
- It has no subscriptions and no recurring charges. The only way to spend
money in the app is the single one-time Pro unlock described above.
If you email us feedback
The app has a feedback option intended for parents. It does not send anything
by itself: it opens your own email app with a message already addressed to
yzyapps99@gmail.com, and nothing reaches
us unless you decide to send it. If you do send it, we receive your email address
and whatever you write. We use that only to reply to you and to fix what you
reported, we do not add you to any mailing list, and we delete the correspondence
once it is no longer needed. Please don't include personal details about your
child in it — we don't need any to help you.
Data retention
The crash reports and anonymous usage events are held by Google under
Firebase's own retention settings and are deleted according to them. We keep no
separate copy of any of it, and we have no database of our own. Uninstalling the
app stops all further collection.
Your choices and how to reach us
- The app does not use the device's advertising identifier at all, so
there is nothing to reset for it. The anonymous installation identifier
described above is discarded when you uninstall the app.
- Uninstalling the app ends any further data collection by it.
- Parents and guardians may email us to ask what has been collected about
their child, or to ask us to delete it. Because the data described above
is not tied to a name or an account, please tell us the approximate date
and the device model so we can ask Google to locate and delete the
matching records. We will reply within 30 days.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any new version will be posted on
this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects
children's data, we will make the change before or at the same time as the app
update that causes it.
